Oleg Yur’yevich At’kov ( born May 5, 1949) is a Soviet cosmonaut. He is married with one child.

Biography

He graduated from the Ivan M. Sechenov First Medical Institute in Moscow in 1973 and received a doctorate of medicine in cardiology from the Academy of Medical Science in 1978. He was selected as a cosmonaut on March 9, 1983. Atkov flew as Doctor Cosmonaut on Soyuz T-10. Atkov retired on October 2, 1984. He then joined the institute of Clinical Cardiology.http://news.stanford.edu/pr/92/920303Arc2384.html From 1989 to 1996 he was co-Chair of the Space Life Sciences Department during the Summer Session Programs of the International Space University in Strasbourg, France. He currently works as a specialist for telemedicine with the European Commission.
